He felt it was important that his foot was in the picture!!!

So this weekend we were the multicultural gurus!!! We had a Luau on Thursday night, Canadian Thanksgiving on Friday night and a Texas themed 1st birthday party on Saturday.
These pictures are of the kids while we were getting ready for the Luau...we are hoping that we will have more pictures from the Luau, Thanksgiving and the party...we just failed to take our camera to any of the events ourselves.
The Luau was well done, it was actually for all of A&M, but it was held at the clubhouse across from our villa (Convenient???) It was just a little late for the kids so we only managed to stay for a bit then we had to come home.
Friday was Canadian Thanksgiving at our friends house back in the old "hood"...what a blast. Of course the food is the same as American Thanksgiving. We all brought a dish (some brought more) and we had an absolute blast!!! There was our Canadian hosts, their two Canadian friends, a husband and wife from Texas (he drove a Harley...that yes, I rode) who lived for many years in Najmah -Ras Tanurah, Saudi Arabia and we knew many of the same people (they actually arrived at ARAMCO the year after we left...but we knew all the same folks). And a family from South Africa (who actually lived in Oman for a few years before Doha). Everyone was super cool and so easy to get along with we laughed and cut up and had a really really good time with fantastic food!!!!
Saturday we went to some friends daughter's first birthday. She was born in Doha, but they had a Texas themed party and it was too cute. Of course we knew all the folks there and it was nice to have a bit of home for the day and Ella was born when we came to Doha for our visit...so it almost felt full circle for us. SHe was a cutie and the cake was awesome (it was a Texas flag and was blueberry, strawberry and white cake) served with real BlueBell and we all got a copy of the Texas music cd that played during the party.
All in all a great weekend.
Clifton will blog any day now about his car accident. He is fine, but thank god he drives a Tahoe...it would have been so much worse if it wasn't the Tahoe. The Tahoe is undriveable and at the shop...we think all the guys in the van are ok, but they did have to go to the hospital. I'll let him tell the whole story, but I will leave it with we are all very very lucky that he is ok...everyone who saw it said if he had been in a smaller vehicle we would be having a much different conversation.
